OUR HISTORY
CAUGHT IN THE MIDDLE
We launched our hallmark "Caught in the Middle" program, aimed at supporting children and families navigate the emotional complexities of parental separation and divorce.
DIVORCE LIFELINE
A non-profit charitable society was registered under the name Divorce Lifeline of Victoria with start-up funding from the Ministry of the Attorney General.
SEPARATION & DIVORCE
RESOURCE CENTRE
Our organization adopted the name Separation and Divorce Resource Centre to reflect the expanding array of services we were providing to the community.
SHARED SPACES
In our first shared space venture, we partnered with the Victoria Child Abuse Prevention and Counselling Centre. This new arrangement afforded us access to essential amenities, including group rooms, play areas, and individual offices for our staff.
FAMILY SERVICES OF GREATER VICTORIA
The current name of our organization was decided upon to reflect our commitment to serving a broader spectrum of family needs and mental health concerns.
BC FAMILIES IN TRANSITION
We rebranded as BC Families in Transition and expanded our services to include individual, couples, and family counselling. We also began offering play therapy for children as young as 4 years old.
VICTORIA SOCIAL INNOVATION CENTRE
We partnered with the Victoria Immigrant and Refugee Centre to secure permanent office space in a shared building dedicated to non-profit organizations known as the Victoria Social Innovation Centre.
